You Need to Give Up Your Pet Permanently
We often get requests to foster pets who are looking for new homes. That is not what we do, but the resources on this page are devoted to rehoming pets.
There are many animal shelters and rescues in the Seattle/Tacoma area; this is just a short list of the big ones. You can also look for a rescue that caters to your pet's breed, species, and/or age (there are rescues specifically for senior pets).
Home to Home and Rehome
These are services that allow you to keep your pet at your home, until a new home is found. This is MUCH less stressful for your pet than going to a shelter in between homes. This also lets you control what happens to your pet - you choose the new owner.
