Becoming a Nomad Volunteer
The process to become a volunteer includes the following steps:
-
All volunteers must:
-
Submit a Volunteer Application, found here
-
The Nomad Volunteer Coordinator will call the references you give us with a few basic questions; please let them know to expect a call
-
-
Attend a volunteer orientation event, which you can sign up for here
-
The orientation is a broad overview of how things work, including meeting other volunteers and setting up needed app(s) on your phone
-
The orientation can be done in person (within Auburn), or virtually
-
-
Sign and return the Volunteer Contract (note, this is different from the Application)
-
-
Volunteers who want to care for Nomad pets directly also have these steps in their process:
-
The Volunteer Coordinator will perform a background check (this is explained in more detail in the Application)
-
If you wish to foster a pet,
-
The Volunteer Coordinator will need to visit your home and meet every resident; this is a very quick process, usually no more than 30 minutes
-
Sign and return the Foster Contract
-
Send the Volunteer Coordinator proof that all resident pets are up to date on their core vaccines
